Internet Failover & Backup Connectivity
A second path that keeps your business online when the first one fails.
Every connection fails eventually. A fiber line is cut by a construction crew, a carrier has an outage, or equipment loses power. Cytranet designs a backup connection on a separate path, so an outage on your primary circuit does not stop your phones, your payment systems, or your cloud applications.
Why one connection is not enough
Most businesses now run on services that live outside the building: cloud applications, hosted phones, card processing, and video meetings. When the internet connection fails, all of them fail together. The most common cause is also the hardest to prevent, which is physical damage to a cable somewhere between your building and the carrier.
What makes a backup connection useful
A second circuit only protects you if it does not share the weakness of the first. Two services that enter the building through the same conduit can be cut by the same backhoe. Cytranet designs backup connectivity on a different medium and a different path, such as fixed wireless or microwave alongside fiber, so that a single event is unlikely to take down both.
How Cytranet builds it
We begin with your primary service and identify what could interrupt it. We then select a backup technology that reaches your site, which may be fixed wireless, microwave, or satellite, and configure your network equipment to move traffic to it when the primary path is lost. Because Cytranet provides the connectivity and supports the equipment, one team is accountable for the whole design.
Voice stays up too
Cytranet cloud voice includes built-in failover call routing. If a site loses power or connectivity entirely, calls can be redirected to mobile phones or to another location, so your customers still reach a person.

Questions
Common questions
What is internet failover?
Internet failover is a second internet connection that takes over when the primary connection stops working. It is configured so that the change happens automatically, which keeps phones, payment systems, and cloud applications running during an outage.
What kind of backup connection do I need?
The best backup uses a different technology and a different physical path from your primary service. For a business on fiber, that is commonly fixed wireless or microwave. For remote sites, satellite may be the right choice. We recommend an option after reviewing your location.
